Insurance Information

Understanding insurance responsibilities when using FindTruckStorage.

Important Notice

FindTruckStorage is a marketplace that connects Storers and Hosts. We do not provide insurance coverage. Both parties are responsible for maintaining their own appropriate insurance.

For Hosts

As a Host, you should ensure you have adequate insurance to cover your property and any liability that may arise from storing third-party vehicles and equipment on your premises. Consider the following:

  • Public liability insurance covering visitors and their property on your site
  • Property insurance that covers your land, structures, and improvements
  • Check your existing policy to confirm commercial storage activities are covered
  • Notify your insurer that you are operating a vehicle storage business
  • Consider umbrella or excess liability coverage for additional protection

For Storers (Vehicle Owners)

As a Storer, you should maintain insurance on your vehicle or equipment even while it is in storage. Recommendations include:

  • Comprehensive vehicle insurance covering theft, fire, storm, and vandalism
  • Confirm your policy covers vehicles while stored at a third-party location
  • For unregistered equipment, ensure you have inland transit or equipment insurance
  • Document the condition of your vehicle before and after storage (photos recommended)
  • Keep a copy of your insurance policy details accessible

Recommended Steps

1

Review your existing insurance policies before listing or booking

2

Contact your insurer to confirm coverage for storage activities

3

Keep all booking confirmations and correspondence as records

4

Take dated photographs of vehicles at check-in and check-out

5

Report any incidents immediately to your insurer and to FindTruckStorage
